If anyone has any experience getting things to work that I couldn’t, please let my know. I just opened a blank canvas, painted some lines and saved.

Painter 2019: Also can’t install and run.ĪrtRage 6: This works. I still need to try it from photoFXLab.Īffinity: I have not been able to get photo, designer, or publisher to install and run. In both cases it seems a little slower than in Windows. Nik Collection (the free Google version): I’ve installed the collection, but only tested SilverFX pro. And I’ve been able to use the edit-in feature to call up the working Topaz plugins. I never liked the idea of subscribing to CC.

Lightroom 5.x: This has been my core photo software since I upgraded it from LR4 years ago. So that’s everything I’ve tried from Topaz so far. I’ve edited and saved, used layers, masks, and blending modes, and I’ve called the handful of plugins I’ve installed so far. PhotoFXLab: Fortunately I have this oldie, and it seems to run just fine. Studio 2: I haven’t tried it yet, and since it can’t call the legacy plugins, I likely won’t try to get it working Studio 1: It starts, but when I try to open an image, it just spins I never go hooked on the newer AI versions, so as of now I’m only attempting to get the legacy software and studio1 & 2 working. These are all using Wine as I’m not interested in using virtual machines unless it becomes absolutely necessary. In case anyone here is interested in linux, I thought I’d post a list of photo and art related software I’ve successfully got running in linux. Isn't this strange? Corel did the same yester year too for Painter 2015: secret information to a secret upgrade discount for some users. No, it is hidden from all upgraders exept those who gets the secret link by mail or by some other way of information. You can buy it "cheap" for just 99 USD if you upgrade by this secret link: īUT, if you go to the ordinary Corel Painter web site you will not find that upgrade price. If you buy it as an upgrade, it is still more expensive than all other painting apps. woa!.there is alot of things to find out about.more than I am interested in any way.Īnd the price: if you buy it as a new user it is expensive compared to all other painting apps. Just start painting.! But if you dig into it and the deeper you get. But if you use it right out of the box, it is not more complicated than ArtRage. I think it is a steep learning curve only if you dig into Painter. Anyone? Any information on that? ArtRage 5.?

The 5.0.4 update for ArtRage 5 is now available for download from the Member. So, I am waiting for the new ArtRage version. To start viewing messages, select the forum that you want to visit from the. Painter is not perfectly emulating real life art materials, not Watercolour, any way.
Just to mention one digital painting technique: the Watercolour tool in ArtRage is waaay better than in Painter, which is IMO just a laugh.and sooo ugly. ArtRage has long time passed Painter in this respect. I was a long time a Painter fan, but the direction the developer it is taking with ".the impressive sensory selection of realistic Natural-Media® that perfectly emulates real life art materials." is really not true any more. Painter is getting more and more complex, introducing more and more brushes every release ( is it 1000 brushes now?) and this time some new Particle Brushes just like Flame Painter.each new brush set costin $29.99.and a new Photoshop Painter plug-in. Last version I bought was X3 (13) and I will stop there I guess. Painter is VERY high prize paint app.you have to pay more than 8 x the prize as for ArtRage. I will not buy Corel Painter 2016 (the release was August 10).
